How to make the point that Burger King has way better and tastier burgers than McDonald's for the eleventh hundred time? By acknowledging that they are really the best at something: making fries.
McDonald's has the best fries, BUT Burger King has the best Burgers; we all know that. The key element here was to make this insight a reality by giving fast food lovers the opportunity for the first time to make this famous insight a reality; a delicious, forbidden, glorious reality.
The Forbidden Impossible Combo was made in collaboration with David São Paulo.
South American journalists put their lives at risk every day in their search for the truth, they face constant threats and kidnapping, and their voices are silenced when they get murdered in the worst-case scenario.
The SIP (The Inter American Press Association) works tirelessly to make governments change their laws to make these specific crimes more severe and punishable.
That was the goal for the creation of The Immortal Pencils. A pencil made with the DNA of three influential fallen journalists that died doing their job, so their voices and the voices of all other journalists never get silenced again.
I have always wanted to shoot a story that involves an astronaut, a space enthusiast, or a rocket launch. When an opportunity came knocking on our door to create a touching story that conveyed the significance of having the right people to support you in achieving the impossible, we knew it was the perfect time to tell a story that would capture the hearts of many. And, of course, we couldn't miss the chance to add a rocket launch to the mix.
The Military Forces of Colombia (FFMM) is one of the best clients I've ever worked for. We learned so much about our country's reality with them, and their briefs were always the most challenging ones. We won the first Cannes Lions for the Military Forces of Colombia, the first for DDB Colombia, and the first for us. Good times.
We opened a pop-up store in the heart of Florida that reflected in every one of its 2,000+ items (from mugs to towels, from keychains to t-shirts) what will happen to Florida if the climate crisis prevails. Then, as people browsed the items and noticed something was off, we used 5,000+ gallons of repurposed water to flood the store and shock them with a blunt message: Florida could stop being Florida if we don't act soon. Rising seas, chronic flooding, and heat waves are already affecting us.
We later created a video that captured the entire experience and launched it on dozens of media outlets that helped us spread the word and invited Floridians to sign a petition for the governor to put the state on a clean pathway.
We created a story with all these really (and real) extraordinary women going on what you might think is just a trip to the beach. But it is way more than that.
This ad was joined by a Social Media campaign where you could meet and learn more about these women and what they do to be extraordinary.
Floridians don't give a f*@k about anything. Not even climate crisis.
But they do give a f*@k about one of their biggest cultural icons: The Florida Man.
So we used him as an example to show Floridians what could happen to all of them if we don't act soon.
The National Soccer Team Jersey is something to be respected. But, what happens when you have more than one nationality? The greatest distinction between us, and many other countries in which one culture is predominant, is that we are truly multicultural.
This is the insight that we recognized to create Ford’s campaign in the spirit of the World Cup, and it is why camisetronford.com was launched— a site in which consumers could create that jersey that represents their multicultural heritage.
TikTok is all about people always showing off their dancing and singing skills. The problem is, eeeeeeverybody does the same.
Idea: in a sea full of perfect singer influencers and millions of videos like this, Lincoln wanted to speak to a younger audience by doing the opposite: encouraging people to sing terribly.
Execution: To deliver Lincoln's message about The Power of Sanctuary - the place where you can truly be yourself; we partnered with TikTok and 3 of the most relevant influencers in our audience. We allowed them to sing one of the all-time most famous Latin American songs: Nino Bravo's "Libre," as natural and terrible as they wanted.
Sometimes the brief talks about showing the car’s features. Sometimes what you can do with that brief is transform it into a nice story.
Ford's vehicles are all about meticulous design. So, when asked to transmit the same sentiment in an OOH for the Hispanic Market, we went above and beyond.
That's why we contacted the Wixaritari tribe in Mexico, famous for their unique and meticulous "Huichol" art: placing millions of beads together to make one image to create a unique piece that illustrates what patience, design, and skill can create.
I did this series of posters for a local coffee shop. The owner of the place loved cinema, and every now and then, she did coffee/cinema events to talk about movies and sell vintage movie posters of very well-known and not-so-known movie jewels.
When she asked me to redesign their on-site menu, movie posters seemed the right way to go.
We captured the thrill of having the freedom to drive a car on a race track by wiring our driver up with a heart rate monitor. Her BPM gave us a direct and authentic signal of the adrenaline, excitement, and wonder she felt as she tore the Ford Fusion around a racetrack.
Her heartbeat rhythm provided the tempo for a group of musicians to create a song.
Sometimes, from time to time, I create art on a piece of paper. Or a wall. Or an axe. Or on a boxing glove. Or on a WW2 helmet. Or on an LP disc. Or... you get the point.
